Refresh Your Summer with a Spa Spritz

Indulge in a moment of tranquility with the Spa Spritz, This modern cocktail is a contemporary evolution of the classic spritz, a beloved Italian tradition dating back to the 19th century. Built on the crisp botanical notes of gin, it offers a delightful blend of fresh cucumber, aromatic mint, and the light fizz of Prosecco. It's the perfect companion for a relaxing summer brunch or happy hour.

Spa Spritz Ingredients

  • 2 oz Gin
  • 3/4 oz Fresh Lime Juice
  • 1/2 oz Simple Syrup
  • 3-4 Slices Cucumber
  • Small Handful Fresh Mint Leaves
  • 3-4 oz Chilled Prosecco (or Sparkling White Wine)
  • Cucumber Ribbon or Mint Sprig (for Garnish)

How to Make A Spa Spritz

  1. In a cocktail shaker, gently muddle the cucumber slices and mint leaves with lime juice and simple syrup.
  2. Add gin and fill shaker with ice.
  3. Shake well until thoroughly chilled.
  4. Double strain the mixture into a chilled wine glass or highball glass filled with fresh ice to remove any muddled bits.
  5. Top with chilled Prosecco.
  6. Gently stir to combine and garnish with a cucumber ribbon or a fresh mint sprig.

For an extra burst of freshness, gently clap the mint leaves between your palms before muddling. This releases their aromatic oils, intensifying the mint flavor without over-muddling and creating bitterness.

Spa Spritz Riff

Elevate your Spa Spritz by infusing your simple syrup with complementary flavors. Try adding a few slices of fresh ginger to the simple syrup while it's warm for a zesty kick, or a couple of thinly sliced jalapeño rounds for a subtle spicy note. You can also swap out the Prosecco for a grapefruit-flavored sparkling water for a non-alcoholic, equally refreshing alternative, or use a high-quality sparkling rosé for a beautiful color and added berry notes.
