According to legend, green Chartreuse is made from a 400-year-old recipe developed in secret by Carthusian monks in France, who still produce it to this day. A classic aromatic digestif, it's made from 130 plants, bark, roots, spices and flowers, and bottled at 110 proof (55% ABV). Its global popularity has blossomed recently thanks to craft cocktails, making it extremely hard to come by. Its meant to be served chilled, over ice, or as an ingredient in cocktails.
