The Sleigh Ride Cocktail Will Have You Ring-Ting-A-Tingling Through The Holidays

The Sleigh Ride is a floral tribute to the holidays which elevates a standard vodka cocktail with the sophisticated, aromatic notes of Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto liqueur and the tart, festive punch of cranberry syrup. It was created by Julie Reiner, a globally recognized mixologist, author, and judge on Netflix’s Drink Masters. It's one of eight signature cocktails available at the annual Blitzen’s Bar pop-up, available at Omni Hotels & Resorts throughout the country this Christmas season. If you can't make it to one of the pop-ups, this simple yet satisfying recipe is easy to replicate at home.

Sleigh Ride Ingredients

  • 1.5 ozVodka
  • 1/2 oz Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto
  • 1/2 oz Cranberry Syrup
  • 1/2 oz Fresh Lime Juice
  • Soda Water (to top)
  • Fresh Cranberries for Garnish

How to Make a Sleigh Ride

  1. Add the vodka, Italicus, cranberry syrup, and lime juice to a cocktail shaker with ice.
  2. Shake well until chilled.
  3. Strain into a highball glass over fresh ice.
  4. Top with soda water and give a gentle stir.
  5. Garnish with a handful of fresh cranberries.

The Italicus provides a unique bergamot and rose petal backbone that pairs exceptionally well with the tartness of the cranberry. For the best visual impact, ensure your soda water is highly carbonated to keep the cranberries dancing around the ice.

Sleigh Ride Riff

For an even more botanical experience, swap the vodka for ginto let the juniper mingle with the bergamot notes. If you can't find a bottle of Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto, Aperol is an acceptable though distinct substitute.
