Country superstar Chris Stapleton and Buffalo Trace Distillery have announced the first line extension for Traveller Whiskey with the release of Traveller Full Proof. This new expression developed through a collaborative blending process between Stapleton and Buffalo Trace Master Distiller Harlen Wheatley. The release coincides with a period of significant career milestones for Stapleton, who recently secured his 12h Grammy Award for Best Country Solo Performance for the song "Bad As I Used To Be" at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, making him one of the decorated artists in the genre.

Traveller Full Proof Whiskey Details
Traveller Full Proof is bottled at 121 proof (60.5% ABV), a significant increase from the 90 proof of Traveller Whiskey’s flagship release. While the bottle does not carry a specific age statement, the straight whiskey components within the blend are aged a minimum of two years according to federal regulations. The increased proof alters the sensory profile, emphasizing notes of caramelized sugar, toasted oak, and baking spices. The palate is characterized by vanilla, toffee, and dark fruit, leading into a longer finish compared to the standard 90-proof blend.

The History Of Traveller Whiskey
The collaboration between Stapleton and Wheatley began formally in 2024, though the singer’s connection to the distillery dates back to his early recording years in Kentucky. The brand name is a reference to his 2015 debut album, Traveller. The production process for the original whiskey involved the evaluation of over 50 experimental blends before the duo settled on "Blend No. 40." Unlike traditional straight bourbons, Traveller is a blended American whiskey that combines different spirits selected from Sazerac’s extensive inventory. Since its release, the brand has expanded its presence through sports marketing, including a multi-year agreement as the official whiskey of Major League Baseball and partnerships within NASCAR, where a Traveller-branded entry competed in the 2025 and 2026 Daytona 500.
Retail Availability
Traveller Full Proof is distributed nationally through the Sazerac network and is available to retailers, bars, and restaurants. It is sold in 750ml bottles with a suggested retail price of $39.99. Final pricing at the consumer level may vary based on local taxes and market conditions.
